Now as our Office Manager, Selina loves keeping things running smoothly and supporting both the team and our patients. When she’s not at work, you’ll find her spending time with family, mountain biking, or enjoying the outdoors.
Monica
Monica started her career at Rocky Mountain Optometry in 2006 where she completed the Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant course. Monica is well-rounded in every area of our busy Fernie office. She first trained as a lab tech assistant, then moved on to do the frame purchasing and dispensing and was the office manager in the Fernie location. Monica keeps up with current and changing aspects in the Optometric world by attending workshops and online training. When Monica is not at the practice she can be found mountain biking and wake surfing in the summer, and fat-tire biking and snowmobiling in the winter.
Jessica
Jessica started at Rocky Mountain Optometry in 2005 and became a certified Optometric Assistant in 2006. Since the beginning Jessica has played many roles within Rocky Mountain Optometry but most recently and for the longest she has been our bookkeeper and behind-the-scenes manager. Jessica enjoys the challenges of the busy practice and helping patients. In her spare time you can find Jessica spending time with family.
Donna
Donna joined the RMO in May of 2020 and became a CCOA shortly thereafter. During the week, Donna can be found upstairs working as a Lab Tech or ordering office supplies for the team. She does her best to assist the team as needed and is always available to offer positive encouragement or even bring you a laugh or two whenever possible. Life is too short to be serious all the time! During her spare time, she enjoys camping and exploring the back country with her family and friends.
Wendi
Wendi has been part of the Rocky Mountain Optometry team since September 2009 and earned her Canadian Certified Optometric Assistant Certification in 2011. As the friendly face at the front desk, she enjoys welcoming patients, keeping things organized, and jumping in wherever help is needed. When she's not at the clinic, you’ll most likely find Wendi outside- running with her dogs, camping, or hitting the trails on her mountain bike.
Madison
Madison was hired at Rocky Mountain Optometry in 2022, and soon after became a Certified Optometric Assistant. She has enjoyed growing her skills across different areas of the clinic and has spent time helping in many roles. These days, you’ll most often find her in our edging lab. Originally from Saskatchewan, she has picked up new hobbies that weren’t as accessible back home- she enjoys snowboarding, steep hikes, and backcountry camping.
Kayla
Kayla was hired in the Fernie and Elkford office early 2023 and became a CCOA in 2024. Kayla is very well rounded in the office and can be seen mostly in the pre-test room getting patients ready for their visit with the doctor. Her favourite thing about working at RMO is getting to know all the different patients and providing them with the best customer service possible! In her free time she can usually be found cuddling her puppy at home or out and about with friends.
Ian
Ian started with Rocky Mountain Optometry in 2024 and became a Certified Optometric Assistant the following year. After learning the various roles around the office, Ian now looks after all things contact lens related and assists in the lab. Ian grew up in New Zealand before coming to Fernie in 2016 to ski. After moving around a bit, he finds himself back in the Elk Valley, for good, where he still enjoys skiing, fishing and days at the lake.
Lana
Lana is a Certified Canadian Optometric Assistant and loves to give one on one attention to patients vision needs and preferences. She especially enjoys finding just the right frame and lenses, not only to have the best vision possible, but also to make an individual feel confident and look great! Lana also patiently trains new contact lens wearers become comfortable with the freedom these lenses offer.
Nadia

Her favourite part of working at RMO is getting to know the community and being part of a supportive team. Outside of work, Nadia enjoys hiking in the mountains and snowshoeing.
Tori
Tori is a friendly, familiar face here at Rocky Mountain Optometry. You’ll usually find her at the front juggling phones, patients, and paperwork, then switching gears to help someone choose their perfect pair of frames. Helping patients find eyewear that makes them feel confident is, without a doubt, her favorite part of the job. While many Fernie locals spend their weekends on the hills or out on the trails, Tori is often off on her next adventure, traveling any chance she gets.
BLAIRMORE OFFICE
Suzanne
Suzanne started working at Rocky Mountain Optometry in 2019. Sue was hired as part-time; however, seems to be here full-time filling in! She’s lived all over Southern Alberta, although in the Crowsnest Pass she has really found her love of hiking. “The trails around here are some of the most beautiful in Alberta”. In her spare time she really enjoys riding her motorcycle and taking in and performing at various venues around town. This job has given Sue the best of all worlds and she is so happy to spend the days playing and working here.
Rhonda
Rhonda started at Rocky Mountain Optometry in 2001. This office quickly became her home away from home, mostly because she loves the people that make-up our offices. If Rhonda had to make a list of her favorite things it would start with her family, long summer days by the lake, hiking and crafting. Rhonda loves serving our communities, and hopes to see you soon.
Alli
Alli has worked at Rocky Mountain Optometry since 2015. Born and raised in the Crowsnest Pass Alli loves having a career that allows her to work with and help people in our community. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, crafts and being outdoors. Alli feels lucky to live in a place where the outdoors seem to change from day to day, always something new for her and her family to discover just outside the front door.
Cheryl
Cheryl joined Rocky Mountain Optometry in 2018. Cheryl has worked in a few different jobs and this one is where she truly felt that it was her home. She has always considered the Crowsnest Pass her home even though she did go “wandering” in her 20’s. Unlike her co-workers, adventuring is not high on her favorites list- she prefers sweaters, cool nights, warm campfires, and being surrounded by her favorite people. She could not imagine doing that anywhere else.
