Dr Shane Groeneweg
Optometrist
Shane moved to Fernie in 2007 after completing his Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo. He grew up on a farm near Fort Macleod and earned his Biochemistry degree at the University of Lethbridge. Skiing, biking, and experiencing the outdoors with his wife and two children are more than enough to keep Shane active outside of our busy optometry practice!
Dr Katelyn Rose
Optometrist
Dr. Rose graduated from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, prior to this she attended the University of Calgary and actually grew up in the Elk Valley. Dr. Rose moved home at the beginning of 2020 and has been working with us ever since, you may even recognize her as she was a summer student with us many years back. Dr. Rose has a specific background in binocular vision and paediatric eye care but overall enjoys every aspect of providing eye heath examination for all ages. She loves all things outdoors including biking, skiing, hiking and playing with her “famous” dog Hewie!
Dr Jeff Mann
Optometrist
Dr. Jeff Mann joined the Practice in 1992 after completing the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo. He came directly to Fernie and Joined Dr. Vinge. He has enjoyed providing the wide scope of eye care that a smaller rural community needs and has fully appreciated the outdoor recreation the east Kootenay offers. It's been the happiest win-win situation imaginable!
